The home page is the storefront of every online business. Having all the essential elements are crucial to driving conversions. There are five key elements that your home page needs to increase engagement and conversion.
1. Impactful Hero Section
The hero section of your home page is the most important element of all–yes, even more than the product. This is where you need to sell yourself and your brand. Your hero section should be visually appealing with an impactful image that conveys trustworthiness and competence. Along with an impactful image, a hero needs a strong call to action such as “Shop Products” or “Buy Now”.
2. Product Introduction
One of the most important elements to make your home page effective is the introduction of your product lines. After all, you can’t expect customers to know what products you offer if they don’t see them on the first page. You should have at least one row on your page that introduces your products with images that represent the product and brand accurately.
3. Social Proof
In addition to product lines, a website should have social proof. Social proof is an effective way to show customers other people who shop from your store and how happy they are with their experience. Testimonials show authenticity on your end as well as encourage new visitors who are browsing your products by giving them pieces of advice from people like themselves who have purchased your product or service.
4. Clear Call to Actions
The next element of a home page is a clear call to action. These days, there’s no telling where users will be when they shop online; therefore, you need to make sure that your CTA is easy to find and to understand by all visitors because you might not get another chance. Examples of CTA include “Shop Now”, “Buy Now”, “Add to Cart”, or “Shop Products”.
5. Blog content
The last essential element of a successful home page is blog content. Your blog is your opportunity to show your expertise with informative articles, videos, and tutorials that connect you to brands and customers in the industry. It’s extremely important to utilize these opportunities because they can help build trust with online shoppers which will eventually lead to more sales. Displaying blog content can also increase site SEO, leading to more traffic.
Creating a homepage that communicates your brand and products can be tricky. But with these five elements, you are bound to have success in communicating who you are, displaying your products, and leading visitors to buy.
